Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is she is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation at times. The first time she worked at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in her landing her first role as production assistant at Univision Miami at which time she assisted the production of the shows Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as a reporter for an affiliate of the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as reporter for news on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She reported on stories related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. Also, she was a substitute anchors on sports and weather. Later, she was the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She also covered major events such as the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. She also hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She also served as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also served in that as a reporter for the magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents come origins from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She is older than her sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. She divorced her parents shortly afterwards and in 1995, she was married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo was diagnosed with kidney cancer. The holiday in the summer that she lived together with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten work. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school and had a clear idea of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered her the college she had always wanted. When she completed her high school studies, she decided to go to the university to study media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a participant in her class formed a strong relationship with the student. His passion for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. In turn, she attempted to live up to his expectations and never let him down.
